TengoTango

TengoTango is an Tango dance school. We love dancing Tango and have great fun doing it. We want other people to experience the same

TengoTango dancers have performed Tango in QLD, SA, VIC, NSW & ACT since 2002.

They have taught various classes and workshops since 2002.

TengoTango perform Tango regularly for events in Canberra & its surrounds.

In 2007 & 2008, TengoTango were a part of the teaching faculty at the Australian Tango Festival in Victoria, Buenos Aires at the Beach, where they taught a series of workshops and performed in the highlight Tango show.

In 2007, TengoTango was cast in a musical romance theatre production of "The Boy Friend", set in the 1920's and presented by Supa Productions at the Street Theatre. We became the "rage of the continent", portraying a hugely popular (Argentine) Tango dancing couple of that time.

TengoTango is often asked to perform representing Argentine culture in Latin cultural events and fundraisers.

In the ACT past performances have been in venues such as: Parliament House, the National Museum of Australia, the Canberra Theatre, as well as at numerous other venues for both the ethnic community & private individual functions.

TengoTango seek to assist the further development of Tango in Australia by sponsoring visiting Tango Maestros from Argentina and around the world. Over the years TengoTango are responsible for bringing to Canberra internationally recognised Tango Maestra Cecilia Gonzalez and Masters Adrian Veredice y Alejandra Hobert from Argentina. TengoTango also played host to the outstanding Tango couple, Mario Consigliere y Anabella Diaz-Hojmann . In 2010 TengoTango hosted highly talented Daniel Tuero and Aja Fenn. 2011 TengoTango brought to Canberra Daniel Nacucchio y Cristina Sosa winners in the Metropolitan Championship 2008 of Buenos Aires in Tango and Milonga. 2012 we had the pleasure of bringing to Canberra Hosanna Heinrich and Anibal Montenegro.

TengoTango hold regular weekly classes for beginners to more advanced and are available for public and private functions, for performance and for workshops. We also have a regular Guided Practica on every Wednesday.
