FUNDAMENTALS TANGO (Wednesdays/Thursdays)

Venue: Polish Australian White Eagle Club, David St, O’Connor
8 week term 7:00 - 8:00 pm
(this class is followed by a guided practica)

Covering fundamentals of tango to get you walking and moving like a tango dancer.

CONTINUING I/II TANGO (Wednesdays)
Starting Wednesday 22nd October 2008
Venue: 
Lutheran Church Hall (behind the Church), Boolee St, Reid
8 week term 6:30 - 7:30 pm

This course is designed to build on the critical techniques taught in the Fundamentals curriculum. It will also cater to people who have been dancing tango for a while, seeking understanding of tango movements and wish to increase their tango vocabulary.
Participants must have stable fundamentals (walk, embrace, cross, back/forward ochos). 
This class covers more complex ochos, a variety of linear & circular sacadas, sable', & gancho.
A particular focus will be on further developing ideal fundamentals (posture and connection), musicality & technique.

INTERMEDIATE I/II TANGO (Wednesdays)
Starting Wednesday 22nd October 2008
Venue: 
Lutheran Church Hall (behind the Church), Boolee St, Reid
8 week term 8:50 - 9:50 pm

This course is designed to challenge the intermediate Tango dancer. It will also cater to people who have been dancing tango for a while, seeking further their understanding of tango movements, musicality and wish to increase their tango vocabulary. (see description of class level)

Participants should have stable fundamentals (walk, embrace, cross, back/forward ochos, giros), have covered basic sacadas, sable', gancho & close embrace basics and have a musical understanding of Tango Vals & Milonga. Also an application of those basics in regular Tango practice.
This class covers beginnings & endings, more complex sacadas & gancho, changes to the embrace & axis, giros variations, planeo, boleo & soltada. There will be a focus on reinforcing ideal fundamentals (posture and connection), musicality & technique.

Class Level Descriptions
 
Fundamentals Class:
Absolute Beginners, Tango social dancers with little fundamental training, Continuing and above Tango students wanting to revisit and cement fundamentals.
 
Continuing I/II Class:
Recent successful completion of Fundamentals level class, and/or 3-9 months of regular social Tango. This class covers two different levels (ie, 6 months worth of tuition, two terms alternate).
 
Intermediate I/II Class:
Successful completion of Continuing I & II (ie, two terms), and/or 9-12 months of regular social Tango. This class covers two different levels and participation is only following confirmation of student’s grasp of Fundamental and Continuing techniques.
 
Intensive I/II:
By private individual or group lesson.
 
 
Cost:
TengoTango 8 week Fundamentals, Cont I/II or Int I/II Course
$110 per person or
$190 per couple
Full-time student discount available at $80 (with valid student card)
Payable by cash or cheque by the first class of the term
